Join our innovative Data Platform team in Munich, where we are building a cutting-edge Data Mesh using Databricks, Azure, and dbt. Through our Data Mesh, we promote data governance, data quality, and data accessibility across the organization. As a (Senior/Lead) Data Platform Engineer (m/f/d), you will play a crucial role in building our data infrastructure, ensuring robust data integrations, and supporting governance initiatives.

Your responsibility

  • Develop platform features that extend to BI and advanced analytics services
  • Implement features using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and modern CI/CD practices, utilizing Azure DevOps and Terraform
  • Collaborate closely with analytics engineering, data science, and other technical teams to gather requirements and develop new, customized core services
  • Support platform compliance by working with IT, legal, and security teams
  • Take on a mentorship role to share knowledge in data engineering and governance methods, guiding the team in their implementation

Your competences

  • At least 10 years of experience in software development and architecture, preferably on data-centric platforms
  • Strong expertise in Databricks and extensive experience with Azure Cloud solutions
  • In-depth experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD, particularly with Azure DevOps and Terraform
  • Excellent understanding of architecture design, microservices, and software development best practices
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to promote knowledge sharing and mentorship of less experienced engineers
